Lielbārži Brothers Claim Season-Best 2nd Place, Neija Finishes 6th

This past weekend in Gdańsk, Poland, the latest rounds of the Sidecarcross World Championship and the European Quadcross Championship took place, with Latvian athletes delivering their strongest performances of the season so far. Brothers Bruno and Daniels Lielbārži secured an impressive 2nd place, their highest finish this season, while Kārlis Neija achieved a personal best 6th place.

The Lielbārži brothers, hailing from Madona, claimed second overall after two consistent and strong races, outperforming several top teams. The riders shared their thoughts after the podium finish:

“We had two really good races today. In the first one, we had a great start and battled hard to stay in the lead, but the Prunier brothers were faster, and we finished second. Another strong start in race two and again — second place. We’re really happy with the frame change, and it's great to see that decision pay off with a podium. Even more exciting was being able to celebrate this success in front of so many Latvian fans!”

In the quad class, Kārlis Neija earned his best result of the season — 6th place overall.

“This was the most eventful race of the season! I’m really pleased with my progress, and it felt amazing to be much closer to the front runners compared to the earlier rounds. Both starts were a bit messy due to contact with other riders, but I managed to finish 5th and 7th, which gave me 6th overall. The bike worked perfectly this time, but to reach higher results, I need to focus more on my physical preparation,” said Neija.

Coming up: August 16–17 in Madona, Latvia. For the first time ever, Smeceres Sils motocross track in Madona will host a World Championship round in Sidecarcross and a European Championship round in Quadcross. The event is expected to gather at least 60 riders from 15 countries, featuring the season’s toughest competition and the largest fan attendance so far.
